Age-Related Calcification
As we age, our bodies undergo a variety of physiological changes, and the brain is no exception. One of the most common age-related changes that affects the brain is the calcification of the falx cerebri, a thin sheet of connective tissue that runs between the two cerebral hemispheres. This process is often benign and does not cause any symptoms, but it can be associated with an increased risk of certain neurological conditions, such as falcine meningiomas.

Falcine meningiomas are a type of tumor that arises from the meninges, the membranes that cover the brain and spinal cord. While they can occur at any age, falcine meningiomas are relatively common in children, with a mean age at diagnosis of 63 years. Male children are affected more than female children.
